HR Manager

This position is responsible for leading Human Resources practices and initiatives across the Mid Valley Family Foods operation, helping to promote and drive a healthy high-performance culture that emphasizes customer service, productivity, goal attainment, recruitment, and ongoing team member development. The Human Resources Manager provides full cycle Human Resources support and is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR excellence and process improvement. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for demonstrating our Mid Valley Family Foods Core Values and carrying out our purpose of Nourishing Lives.

Essential Functions:

This position is responsible for:

  • Working in a manner consistent with our Core Values and promoting and exemplifying our Purpose in all activities.
  • Providing coaching, leadership, direction, and partnership to the leadership team.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with all team members through effective counsel on HR/people matters.
  • Maintaining a positive work environment, conducting pro-active team member relations activities such as holding regular roundtables and structured feedback sessions.
  • Identifying and monitoring culture so that it supports the attainment of the company’s purpose and promotes team member engagement in all branches.
  • Managing team member feedback to implement targeted action plans and partnering with leadership aimed at optimizing morale, engagement and teamwork.
  • Identifying and applying recruiting strategies to ensure a timely response to filling open positions. Collaborate with Chief People Officer and local leadership to close talent gaps and improve recruitment, leadership development, and retention plans that meet business goals. Supporting outreach efforts by developing quality relationships with multiple sources.
  • Providing counsel to leaders and team members regarding on-the-job and formal training opportunities to aide in their development. Assisting in preparing Personal Development
  • Plans and facilitating the performance management process.
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the business and culture. This will require a presence on multiple shifts throughout the operation and within transportation.
  • Partnering with CPO to reduce legal risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and encourage a culture of accountability and speaking up.
  • Collaborating, developing and delivering HR policies, practices, and procedures that guide the business while achieving compliance.
    HR leader for most of the following areas: compliance, LOA/FMLA/CFRA, wage and hour, bi-weekly payroll, succession planning, talent management, employee relations, benefits administration and support, EEO, workplace safety and workers compensation support, and training and development

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years HR Generalist, HR Business Partner and/or HR Manager experience including employment law, compensation, investigations, training, and performance management
  • Strong understanding of business environment, strategy, and business needs
  • Strong experience of analyzing and presenting data
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft, HRIS and Applicant Tracking tools
  • Experience in performance management and talent management initiatives
  • Sense of urgency in addressing organizational/individual needs.
  • Ability to make timely and informed decisions and understands when to escalate issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven success in building and maintaining positive and productive working relationships with all levels of staff, and a demonstrated ability to impact and influence all levels of management.
  • Ability to navigate an organization through change, and influence employee engagement and morale.
  • The ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of our people within the company

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Food manufacturing, specifically dairy experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or MBA in HRM
  • SHRM-SCP/CP Certification
  • Bi-lingual (English & Spanish)
  • Working knowledge of EHS practices

Salary Range: $115,000- $135,000
